Black Sheep

Everyone has one (a Black Sheep in the Family)

In talking to my network of friends and business associates, I discovered that everyone seems to have a structure family in her closet, a sheep "Black", is there any relatives you may have to break the harmony of the family. This could be an aunt walnut or uncle, brother or sister, son or daughter, you get the idea. Over and over again that seem out of their way to embarrass the family. Consequently, we like to confine in important family functions, like weddings or reunions. We keep a distance, since they do not want to interrupt your life nuts and pray that our flight is not the family emotionally or financially.

I always found it interesting that American presidents have had to put a stop to certain relatives. For example, Jimmy Carter, I was always worried about the antics of his brother Billy, who was best known for its beer and registering as a foreign agent on behalf of the Libyan Government. Ronald Reagan concerned about what their offspring might say in public. I think Patti Playboy pictorial probably pushed him over the edge.

But presidents are not alone in this regard. I believe everyone has a family distress, either distance or near, the family has caused either by money, substance abuse, something he said he was on duty, the commission of a crime, or simply his quirky personality. I remember my father in law had a brother who live far from Florida that he had not spoken in years who had an altercation regarding the care of their elderly parents. Once a year if he would call his brother on the phone, if the brother replied my father-in-law hang in there quickly before saying a word. Just wanted to know "If that bastard was still alive."

It seems strange that we all have someone in the dysfunctional family we have to deal with. It is very uncomfortable for all involved and is something I do not like to talk openly with others, but I think it is a fact of life. I think the old saying sums it up, "You can choose your friends but you can not choose his family. "

Maybe that's why we liked as shown in the 1950s as "Leave It to Beaver, Father Knows Best" or "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" ( "Adventures"?) Critics claimed that their persons were unrealistic absolutely clean, but it was a lifestyle that everyone wanted. Today, programs like "The Simpsons" and "Married with Children" reflect life as we know, their relatives and many embarrassing situations arise that are more realistic.

Frankly, I think if we honestly had a choice, we prefer live more like Ozzie and Harriet that Homer and Marge Simpson. But it will not be.
